5 REASONS EVERY ARTIST SHOULD WATCH LALALAND

This article is for the fools that dream. It’s not often we’ll post about a movie but LALALAND had swept the Golden Globes with 7 Golden Globes, and YES this is ‘that film’ that has popped up and grabbed my attention. It makes me want to watch it (and listen to the soundtrack) with every person that will watch it with me!

LALALAND is one for the artists and creatives for 5 main reasons. It’s a feel good movie. YES. But it is so much more than just that! La La Land shows a journey of an artist fulfilling their dream and grabbing it by the balls! The beautiful location in L.A. doesn’t hurt!

1) The journey of the film

The script for LaLaLand was originally rejected and placed on a blacklist in 2012! So Damien Chazelle decided to create it as an independent film, and the rest is history! If he didn’t stick to his gun’s we wouldn’t have what is likely to be considered as the best film of 2017.

2) It a MUSICAL!

Before I came to London I couldn’t stand musicals! Then I watched Lion King… then Wicked.. you get the flow. La La Land pays homage to the classics whilst reflecting the modern day! Give it a chance.

3) Mia & Sebastian

Could Ryan and Emma be any more perfect for each other. They portray perfectly how 2 artists support each other and bring their goals into light. You can’t help but think of your Mia or Sebastian… its dreamy.

4) THE SOUNDTRACK.

Yes I have had it on repeat on Apple Music for the last month. Am I bored? Not really… Do I know every word and harmony by heart, yes. Justin Hurwitz composed such a beautiful track that it captures the movie perfectly but it also works as a somewhat ambitious soundtrack.

5) It’s about YOU.

If you’re a film maker, actor, musician, dancer, painter, or artist of any king you’ll know what the word “no” sounds like. You’re faced by rejection on a regular basis and you put yourself in the ‘where am I going wrong’ loop. This film shows perseverance and hard work really do pay off!
